Aaaaand, the Vida Joven children will now have more adults to care for them!

Starting Saturday, September 9, a fantastic woman named Alejandrina will begin her new role as weekend supervisor at the orphanage. This is GREAT news for the children. Why? Because having a supervisor at the house will help everything to operate even more smoothly on Saturdays and Sundays. And this means even better care for the children. Do the Happy Dance, everybody!

Alejandrina is already well-known to the kids. She has been working at Vida Joven as a night-shift caregiver. The night shift caregivers look after the children from 8:00 p.m. until 8:00 a.m. When it came time to hire a weekend supervisor, Alejandrina emerged as the first choice by house director Sylvia, with support from the board of directors in Mexico.

Alejandrina’s new shift will be from 8:00 8:00 p.m. each weekend. Alejandrina is a strong leader who will do an outstanding job of supporting, guiding, and managing the weekend staff as they serve the children.

Alejandrina is married and has two young children of her own. She’s looking forward to being with her family in the evenings, now that she won’t be working the night shift at Vida Joven!

And, we’re in the process of hiring a new night-shift caregiver to fill the spot Alejandrina used to fill.

It takes a lot of folks to care for all of these children. At Vida Joven, our staff are trained, screened, and given opportunities for ongoing training. Be sure to introduce yourself to Alejandrina next time you visit on a weekend! And thanks for helping to surround these children with trained, caring adults.
